Our client provides specialised investment management services to retail and institutional customers. Due to the growth of the organisation they now require a dedicated Communications and Events Specialist to play a proactive role
in supporting the Head of Client Services to deliver on all client events and the broad range of client
communications. With your expertise, experience, and track record, you shall embody the values and culture
of client-centric investment company that has developed into a major player in the investment industry with offices in South Africa and United Kingdom.
the ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the areas of event management and client communications
services within the investment industry and has a track record of working closely with senior executives to
manage and enhance the marketing and client service function. They wish to appoint an individual with a pro-active and
dynamic approach, the ability to build long-term partnerships with clients, and the ability to approach
business from a passionate, innovative, and deeply considered point of view as it pertains to the companies brand-building and marketing communications activities.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
The role will form part of the client service team and will report to the Head of Client Services. The
responsibilities will include the following:
1. Event Planning and Oversight:
– Manage the annual insights client event, including communication with guest speakers, venue
coordination, event layout, menu planning, logistics, and hotel arrangements for guests.
– Plan and execute small individual client events, coordinating with asset managers for presentations to end
clients.
2. Webinar Management:
– Plan, coordinate, and execute webinars, from initial planning through post-event follow-up.
– Manage webinar invitations, registrations, and attendance tracking.
– Compile and assist with preparation for presentations for webinars, ensuring content is engaging and
informative.
3. Online Communication:
– Manage and own all website content, including fund reviews, ad hoc market updates, quarterly reports,
and monthly commentary.
– Develop and implement strategies for effective online communication to clients to ensure that it is targeted
and relevant, maximising the .
4. Content Management:
– Regularly update and maintain website content to ensure accuracy and relevance.
– Work closely with internal teams to gather information for fund reviews, market updates, and other
content pieces.
5. Marketing Material Development:
– Create and update marketing materials for company-wide and client-specific initiatives.
– Coordinate tailored marketing requirements for financial advisors, supporting their communication needs
for end clients.
– Ensure marketing materials align with regulatory guidelines and company branding standards.
Ideal Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in communications and marketing gained within the investments industry.
Proven experience in event planning and management, particularly in the investments industry.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to tailor messages to different
audiences.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail Strong project management skills, with the ability to
manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to collaborate with colleagues across different
departments.
Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
Familiarity with website content management systems and basic HTML.
